Unlocking Brisbane's Development Potential
Wolter Consulting Group, along with Ellivo Architects and DMA Partners was commissioned by the State Government to investigate strategies to unlock Brisbane LMR sites by way of a demonstration project at Yeerongpilly. This process involved, economic analysis, design testing and design code reviews. A recent presentation was also made to Brisbane City Council. Please refer to the recent blog by Ellivo Architects.
Major 5-Storey Development Approved
Today Brisbane City Council approved a complex development application submitted by Wolter Consulting Group for a 5-storey, 208 unit Aged Care Facility development on a 3.5Ha vacant site in Holland Park West. The application dealt with significant issues relating to the architectural design of the buildings being proposed in a low-density area, the proposed height of buildings above natural ground level, and complicated easement and reconfiguration issues relating to a waterway traversing the site and access road. The approval is an excellent outcome for our client Philip Usher Constructions on a low-density residential zoned site.

Congratulations to everyone for achieving such competitive times and for your great sportsmanship on the day. A big thank you to all of the friends, families and fellow WCG members who supported the event and made it a great day out for everyone.

WCG Host Laneway Housing Study Tour
Michael Wolter and our Town Planning team hosted a site tour of laneway housing projects for key staff at Brisbane City Council. The purpose of the tour was to demonstrate first hand the innovative and affordable small lot housing projects occurring in and around Brisbane and to lead a discussion about how key principles could be introduced into the new City Plan for Brisbane, to unlock existing barriers into this market. The tour was a success, with 15 Council planning managers, scheme drafters and DA planners, engineers and architects attending the half day bus tour.
